ORCID: UNA ALTERNATIVA PARA LA IDENTIDAD DIGITAL DE INVESTIGADORES
La ciudadanía digital como consecuencia de la
conectividad global elevo considerablemente el
volumen de investigaciones científicas de calidad,
con participación multidisciplinaria y sin restricciones
geográficas. Este incremento y relevancia,
ha significado darle a este ciudadano digital una
identidad que haga posible categorizar y catalogar
de forma sistemática, accesible y eficiente todo
este creciente volumen de información. Buscar alternativas,
para hacer visible los hallazgos encontrados
y sobre todo que se reconozca e identifique
unívocamente a aquellos profesionales que se han
dedicado a innovar e investigar; quienes, formando
equipos multidisciplinarios y colaborativos,
impulsando la integración entre académicos de
diversos países, aunando esfuerzos en aras de mejorar
o revertir problemáticas comunes que se presentan
a nivel global o regional en cada una de sus
áreas de influencia. Esta identidad global, confiable
y segura, evita la ambigüedad en el nombre de
los investigadores, por las variantes de nombres,
en algunos casos homónimos, en otros el colocar
sus apellidos como compuesto, lo que ha generado
no tener una identificación correcta, haciendo
difícil realizar una discriminación y recuperación
de todo su acervo científico a nivel mundial.
Esto ha conllevado a que universidades, autores,
editores, busquen alternativas para que los investigadores
posean un identificador digital perdurable
y que les permita vincular sus actividades
de investigación científica y académica (patentes,
artículos, libros, proyectos), en los diferentes sistemas
de información. Desde esta perspectiva se
ha implementado el ORCID (Open Research
and Contributor ID), el cual es un identificador
digital único, consta de 16 dígitos, de acceso libre
y gratuito, donde el usuario puede hacer un perfil de investigador y académico, teniendo la posibilidad
de exportar e importar la producción científica
desde diversas plataformas como Scopus o
Web of Science entre las mas resaltantes. Al ser
un identificador único, Scielo desde el 2019 lo
ha considerado como requisito obligatorio a ser
solicitado a los investigadores, al momento que
someten un artículo en una revista indizada en
Scielo, debido a que el ORCID contribuye a la
identificación exacta de los autores y el cosechar
toda su producción científica, sumado a ello es
una plataforma amigable y de fácil acceso, se
puede dar de alta https://orcid.org/register.
La revista científica Hamut´ay no ajena a estos
estándares establecidos en beneficio de la divulgación
de la ciencia y el reconocimiento a aquellos
que están inmersos en estos escenarios y cumplir
con las normas requeridas por bases de datos reconocidas,
desde el vol. 5 (2) 2018, se ha solicitado
a los autores de manera obligatoria coloquen
su ORCID en los artículos aceptados a publicación
en la revista.
ORCID: AN ALTERNATIVE FOR THE DIGITAL IDENTITY OF RESEARCHERS
Digital citizenship as a consequence of global
connectivity significantly increased the volume of
quality scientific research, with multidisciplinary
participation and without any geographical restriction.
This increase and relevance have meant
giving this digital citizen an identity that makes it
possible to categorize and catalog in a systematic,
accessible and efficient way all this growing volume
of information. Looking for alternatives, to
make the findings visible and, above all, to recognize
and uniquely identify those professionals
who have dedicated themselves to innovate and
research; who as a part of multidisciplinary and
collaborative teams, promote integration among
academics from different countries, joining
efforts to improve or reverse common problems
that occur at global or regional level in each of
their areas of influence. This global identity, reliable
and secure, avoids ambiguity in the name of
the researchers, by their name variants , in some
cases homonyms, in other cases placing their surnames
as a compound name, which has generated
not having a correct identification, making it difficult
to make a discrimination and recovery of
all their scientific contribution worldwide.
This has led to universities, authors, publishers,
to seek alternatives for researchers to possess a
lasting digital identifier, allowing them to link
their scientific and academic research activities
(patents, articles, books, projects), in the different
information systems. From this perspective, the
ORCID (Open Research and Contributor ID)
has been implemented , which is a unique digital
identifier that consists of 16 digits, with a free and
open access, where the user can make a researcher
and academic profile, having the possibility
to export and import the scientific production from various platforms such as Scopus or Web of
Science among the most prominent. Being a unique
identifier, since 2019 Scielo has considered it
as a mandatory requirement for researchers, at the
time they submit an article in any journal indexed
in Scielo. The ORCID contributes to the exact
identification of the authors and to gather all
their scientific production. Besides it is a friendly
and easily accessible platform, you can register at
https://orcid.org/register.
The Hamut´ay scientific journal is well aware of
these established standards for the benefit of the
dissemination of science and recognition to those
who are immersed in these scenarios. Hence,
meeting the standards required by recognized databases,
since vol. 5 (2) 2018, the authors have
been requested to place their ORCID in the articles
accepted for their publication in this journal.
